Get a 32GB SanDisk High Endurance microSD card (Do NOT buy 128GB+). Nextbase 222 / 222X Dash Cam uses a microSD Card rated Class 10 / U3. Older and entry-level dashcam models have a strict 32GB size limit and will refuse to format larger cards.
The official maximum supported capacity for Nextbase 222 / 222X Dash Cam is 128GB (tested up to 128GB). For the best balance of price and reliability, our recommended sweet-spot size is 64GB.
32GB ≈ 4 to 5 hours of continuous 1080p driving before looping (Max supported size). Choosing 64GB gives plenty of headroom without overpaying.
Cards larger than 32GB often trigger 'Card Error' on entry dashcam models. Standard consumer cards (such as SanDisk Ultra) are not built for continuous loop recording and wear out quickly.
